Personal Care Attendant (PCA)
Summary: The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) plays a crucial role in assisting individuals with their daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their comfort and well-being. This position involves providing hands-on care and support to clients in their homes.
Responsibilities:
Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
Provide support with mobility and transfers to maintain safety.
Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals.
Assist with meal preparation and feeding, adhering to dietary requirements.
Perform light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in the client's condition.
Offer emotional support and companionship to clients.
Monitor and report any changes in the client's health or behavior.
Follow care plans and instructions provided by healthcare providers.
Collaborate with the healthcare team and communicate effectively.
Adhere to all agency policies and procedures.
Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for clients.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a PCA or caregiver is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate and patient attitude.
Ability to provide hands-on personal care with dignity and respect.
Empathy and understanding of the needs of elderly or disabled individuals.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Reliable transportation (if required).
Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
