Companion Caregiver

Summary: The Home Care Companion provides valuable support and companionship to individuals who require assistance in their homes. This role focuses on enhancing the well-being and quality of life for clients by offering companionship, emotional support, and assistance with daily living activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.

  • Engage in conversation, active listening, and meaningful interactions.

  • Assist with daily living activities, including dressing, grooming, and toileting.

  • Prepare and serve meals, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.

  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and organization.

  • Provide reminders for medication and hydration.

  • Encourage and assist with mobility and exercise routines.

  • Assist with communication, such as reading, writing, or using technology.

  • Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the client.

  • Report any changes in the client's condition or well-being.

  • Comply with all agency policies and procedures.

  • Document care activities and client interactions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous experience as a caregiver or companion is a plus.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Compassionate and patient attitude.

  • Ability to provide emotional support and engage in meaningful conversations.

  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of elderly or disabled individuals.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

  • Reliable transportation .

  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to assist clients with mobility and transfers.

  • Stamina to stand, walk, and perform tasks for extended periods.

  • Visual and auditory acuity.

Working Conditions:

  • Home care setting, including private residences.

  • May involve exposure to clients with various health conditions.

  • Flexible work hours based on client needs.
