Companion Caregiver
Summary: The Home Care Companion provides valuable support and companionship to individuals who require assistance in their homes. This role focuses on enhancing the well-being and quality of life for clients by offering companionship, emotional support, and assistance with daily living activities.
Responsibilities:
Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
Engage in conversation, active listening, and meaningful interactions.
Assist with daily living activities, including dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Prepare and serve meals, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.
Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and organization.
Provide reminders for medication and hydration.
Encourage and assist with mobility and exercise routines.
Assist with communication, such as reading, writing, or using technology.
Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the client.
Report any changes in the client's condition or well-being.
Comply with all agency policies and procedures.
Document care activities and client interactions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a caregiver or companion is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate and patient attitude.
Ability to provide emotional support and engage in meaningful conversations.
Empathy and understanding of the needs of elderly or disabled individuals.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Reliable transportation .
Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to assist clients with mobility and transfers.
Stamina to stand, walk, and perform tasks for extended periods.
Visual and auditory acuity.
Working Conditions:
Home care setting, including private residences.
May involve exposure to clients with various health conditions.
Flexible work hours based on client needs.
